Empowering kids who stutter to say what they want to say through community outings and social experiences.
KOPS- Kids Out Promoting Stuttering- is a monthly social and support group for kids, ages 8-13, who stutter. KOPS has a purpose to build friendships, encourage communication, and to normalize the experience of stuttering, always while having a ton of fun.
During the school year, events are typically held on weekends and some school-out days, and during the summer, they may be held on weekends or weekdays. Events will last between 2 and 5 hours, depending on the activities planned. Activities vary month to month, but some past activities have included seasonal parties, pancake breakfasts, ceramic painting, and movie days. Parents are responsible for transportation and for the event cost for their child which ranges between $10-$25 typically.
If you would like your child to be included in our event invitations and announcements, or would like more information, please email us at
UPDATE (November 2020):
KOPS will be transitioning to "More Meet-Ups" beginning January 2021. Currently, due to COVID-19 restrictions and recommendations set by the CDC and Oregon Health Authority, any events will be held virtually until further notice.
