Empowering teens who stutter to say what they want to say through community outings and social experiences.
TOPS- Teens Out Promoting Stuttering- is a social and support group for teens, ages 13-18, who stutter that meets monthly. The goals for TOPS are community, friendships, and self-acceptance. Events are generally held on weekends and are typically 3-4 hours in length. Parents are responsible for all transportation to and from events, as well as covering the cost of the event for their teen only. Events generally cost $15-$30.
Monthly activities vary greatly and are sometimes planned by the TOPS; in the past teens have enjoyed bowling, attending professional sporting events, volunteering, painting pottery, game and movie nights, taking ninja fitness classes, kayaking, and hiking.
Any interested teens can be added to the monthly event announcement email by contacting us at
UPDATE (November 2020):
TOPS will be transitioning to "More Meet-Ups" beginning January 2021. Currently, due to COVID-19 restrictions and recommendations set by the CDC and Oregon Health Authority, any events will be held virtually until further notice.
